Update on Carol

Well Carol had her last LONG treatment yesterday, it took 9 hours. She is done with the typical chemo now and her hair will start to grow back, it'll take about 3 months before she'll have enough to comb they are saying. She's a bit tired, something that hasn't been an issue in the past, but she's a strong wife for sure. She will continue the study drug for the next year, but it only takes 20 minutes and once a month to do, her hair won't be affected. He CA125 is now down to an "8" !!!!
I think we can safely now say that Carol has kicked cancers a$$.
She has a Cat Scan next week to back everything up.

History:
December 2006 - CA125 = 32
Memorial Day 2007 - CA125 = 4950
Two weeks later after surgery - CA125 = 1750
After one chemo treatment - CA125 = 200
After second chemo treatment - CA125 = 30
After third chemo treatment - CA125 = 15
After Fourth chemo treatment - CA125 = 10
After Fifth chemo treatment - CA125 = 8

Like I said in the beginning, I was waiting to hear you say those words (carol beat cancer). I am so very happy for you and your family, I'm sure there is still things to do but a big cograts is still in order. Carol sounds like a very strong lady but I also think she is a lucky gal to have a guy like you. god bless both of you and congrats again.!!!!!!!

I just got off the phone with Carol, I read her all these posts! I cried...of course! This is so awesome! I only wish others were this fortunate... but, at least we are. Carol is a very strong woman, and to me, the hardest part has been knowing she was sick, but not actually seeing it. She has been such a trooper all along and vowed not to let this beat her... she was going to BEAT IT!!! And she is doing just that.... Just gotta love her even more for taking control and not letting it get her down. She is a rock and I am so happy that she will be with us for years and YEARS and YEARS to come.....

She actually told me that you were going to post something and I had been on here this morning and nothing was here, so, before we hung up, I got on here to check....sure enough... there it was. Just when I think you don't really like her, you go and say something to "check" me, LOL!!!!!!!

Don't forget what I told you..... You married her... heehee... you MADE me like her!!!

I also am waiting with expectant breath to hear "Carol is cancer free" prayers always uplifted for you all!!!!!

My Mom's fiancee starts his radiation treatments today for 6 straight weeks to fight a re occurance of his Colon cancer (lots taken out and reconsturcted after first occurance) He is also doing a run of hormone shots! We love Dick very much and hope this is his last battle with cancer!
