I would like every ones opinion before I go any further with this topic. The NPS class. I think the class need's to be split to make it fair, so I propose let all the rules stand as written but car's from 1980 and down are in one class and 1981 and up are in the outher. They run 3 different classes in the jr dragster classes so why not NPS. I think by doing this it will let the none arodynamic cars run each outher and keep things on a more even playing field. It might even bring more people into the class or classes. Each class would have a points champ at the end of the year and possibly a grand class winner, with a class run off after each champ was crowned. just a thought I'm probly pissing in the wind !!!!!!!

Jacob is right. The car count will not support two classes. I think a revision to the rules is needed to give the old metal a little help.

But don't you think by spliting the class, may be some might be more intersted in it? I don't know again these are just thought's to maybe help the class out. I personaly feel the older metal is at a disadvantage, and this is from a outsider that has nothing to do with the class or the organization.

i think they should give the older cars a better weight break since the older cars are more in the true spirit of the "old" pro street days...

IMO, i think there is alot of interest in NPS, just not alot of guys that can afford to run mid 7s on 1 fogger.

Vorderer does a good job, but is NA

Baio does a good job, but gets a weight advatage over the nova and doubles the nitrous too.

I'm not sure what beesons camero is running.

The class is a Big motor, big tire, NOS class. Otherwise there'd be blowers and turbos. They just need to even it out more for what the rules are for all set ups.

then im not sure what you guys are after?????
the posting is being about how(kevin) with a 70 nova cant
hang with the likes of (colleta) with a 2000 camaro

and im not taken any sides or bashing anybody

but we ran 7.62 at last years memphis finals and kevin
just now ran a 7.61 this year ????????in (nmca trim)

and i run an early heap that was 100 pounds over weight
and under powered by colletas power????

so i took the year off to build a new chassis and to find more
power in hopes of hangin with them????

hopes

so i guess what im saying is you cant give up
you have to find it
cause i highly doubt they will give anything for
early heaps to help out???

it's frustrating because kevin threw thousands and thousands of dollars at the car, have tuned it and tuned it all year, and the car bests a mid 50.

It seems the cars in the 40s are

Same motor/nos setup but aerodynamic
same aerodynamics but NA
same aerodynamics but slightly smaller motor, lighter, 2X the NOS bhp

and that might sound a bit like whining, until you start looking at it from a statistic and numeric standpoint. we just want it fair.

I personally give credit to the NA guys, they seem to be doing a great job and running the #'s it seems fair.

It's never fun to lose. it's for sure no fun to lose when you are at a disadvantage and no amount of money, tuning, or time could ever turn it into a win. And that's where the frustration sets in.

And it's hard to look past Nesbits old vette motor. Last year the thing runs 40s. This year in an old Camero it's finally, after all year, running a mid 50. And this is with some of the best people working on it and already a small weight advantage.

From my perspective, a bigger NOS pill is needed, or proof of any car that has the aerodynamics of a kite with a 632 and small pill is running low 40's with room to be in the 30s like other people are. There's nobody even close that I know of.

I feel your flustrations but I also know the quickest car doesn't always win. How many times this year did a quicker car beat Kevin?
