I know this will get some responses, but, After driving a new Duramax/Allison, I don't know why anyone would buy anything else.
Dodge/OK!!!
New Twin Turbo Ford/ NO Way.

I have a 99 Cummins in a Dodge, & I USED to love this truck, but........................ Ive had issues & I know that its only a matter of time before it costs me another $3K in tranny repairs, so Im not so in love with it any more.

now days I only use it to tow the race car & were I to do it over again, knowing I was not going to drive it every day, I would just buy a 90/00's Chevy Dually with a 454. I cant throw a rock around here w/o hitting one & them I can fix. every time I put money into the Dodge/Cummins its a thousand dollar bill @ a whack.

were I looking for a Diesel, I think I would have to go with the Isuzu with the Allison (AKA Chebby).

Just my opinion. Ford had a great engine with the 7.3 . The 6.0 had alot of power when it ran. Which unfortunately wasn't often. The 6.4 is still too new to make a judgement on.

Oh, and by the way. It's not a twin turbo. It's a dual turbo. One turbo runs all the time to provide more power. The second spools up under a load.

Actually it's not as hard as it sounds. Our techs have been taking the cab off to do engine work on the gas motors. It's much easier than pulling the motor.
