Sorry to hear that Dogg! No experiance with knee's but my Mom had tendon's replaced in her elbow, was a pretty routine surgery I guess and she was mobile again in 2 weeks, of course with continuing therapy for another 6 months! Good Luck to her!

Anything to do with the kness is going to be a loooong recovery. Just tell her to make sure he follows her rehab.

A little story for you Dogg.

I was in Washington DC last summer at a meeting with some people from that area. During a break I was talking with an old friend (a little younger then me but not much). He said his dad was coming to visit for a week and would wear him out site seeing before he left. I said "Your dad has to be close to eighty, how come you can't keep up with him?" He said, "He had both knees replaced last year and now he runs me ragged!"

True story. Hope your mom makes out well!
:)

It is a piece of cake, the worst part is the 1st and 2nd days when they get you out of the bed to walk on it. she will recover well. She will just need a lot of support, family and friends to keep her smiling.

I know, thats what hepled me through it

I've had a couple of friends who have had it done. Susie's statement is a major one. One guy did his time at rehab and now he's out running laps, (70+yrs.). the other guy said hey, I feel to good to go to rehab, and now he's not a whole lot better than he was before. (50+yrs.)
