Don't anyone come down here unless you have full battle gear AND lots of ammo. Jefferson Parish is NOW shooting assholes that are caught looting We're getting alot of people here now and it's really getting worse. There's soooo many people they look like rats running everywhere and stealing anything they want. We have also had some murders last night and I'm sure we'll be getting more as this progresses. Good news is that most people around here are armed and shoot first when someone gets on their property. Even the fire dept here is well armed now
Don't take any chances. We had 2 guys approach us one wearing just a NOPD shirt and badge, We took them down until they could prove they were Police. Only one of them had his comission on him. The other said he left it in his out of gas unit. We suspected them to have shot officers and took his shirt but these were legit.
I'll try and keep ya'll posted whenever I get to a puter.

People are everywhere and I'm blessed to be working days
We're still taking people out the city and there's mobs of traffic from other people who left trying to get back in. We have I-10 shut down except for getting people out and emergency people in/out. There is only 2 ways back in in my parish, US 61 and Hwy3127..and the river road on both sides of the river... They're gonna start letting people back in tomorrow morning at 0600 but alot of them just want to be first in line and are lining up on these routes....lots of traffic problems...but that's not bad as long as they behave.
Bad news is the amount of guns we're recovering....lots and you would think that's good but there's alot more. You can all show nice big guns on this site but that doesn't matter to have those when some asswipe shoves one in your face...no time to pull a .50 cal from the trunk and you surely won't be holding one of those for any period of time. I do have some good "stuff" but you just can't keep that stuff on you all day and still deal with the idiots we have here. I really feel for other parts of the country that is getting these "bad" people. They of course are not all bad but you do see how many are. Just DON'T turn your back on anyone you don't know. The help we're getting from other police depts and the military is great.
Also people are fighting everywhere, stores, gas stations, parking lots...many with just hands but more and more w/ bats, knives, and even guns. We've had 2 murdered in the last 2 days and I didn't get any report from last night.
Well, I'll keep you all posted from here whenever I can. And remember that the news only shows you what they want...
More bad news is that we had 2 officers commit suicide. I just don't understand the BS that's going on down here....people have gone mad So OK...we've had a very bad thing happen here, recover and move on and STOP blaming everyone.

**UPDATE**
those Marines are on 24 hour notice and should be leaving very very soon. i have heard as soon as this morning. they also are taking a helocopter unit to help in the effort which left yesterday.
