Yesterday all four of our local tv stations were reporting on a Street Race that ended in the death of a young man. They were all calling it "drag racing" in their usual way. I was so pissed I emailed my favorite station disgusted and told them that. As of this morning all "drag" terminology was removed on their web site and replaced with "street". So being encouraged I emailed the other 3 stations, as of 5 mins ago all but one had changed their terminoloy on their websites to "street racing". I can only hope the last one follows suit and they remember this for future reporting cause sadly it will happen again. Kinda feeling good about myself right now :D

Thanks guys, I have to tell you Kev, that was my first thought, just what we need, more bad press. Most people don't understand the difference and that is very frustrating. We need to thrive as drag racers not be put down as punks, does that make sense. I was much more elouqent in my emails to the stations, LOL

Great job Shannon, we had an issue here in the Detroit area a couple of years ago where there was someone killed during a street race and every news station and paper I saw called it out something like this.

"man killed during a drag race on the streets of detroit" these reporters are all edgemucated but don't really understand most of what they report on if it's not war related.

just my opinion. Keep up the great work Shannon
