Why dont those big blower guys ever have a hood scoop around it. Seems like it would smooth it out and be more aerodynamic.

Good driver. got out of it before it became a mess.

I hope that Camp does not mind that I post this

Those darn sharks!

They tried their best to bite, but swim amongst them we did, yet again! The baddest race cars on the planet came rolling into Royce Miller’s Maryland International Raceway last weekend. And the Stanley & Weiss racing team was in attendance yet again.

We tried several new things on the car knowing that mid 3.90’s/4.0’s was generally not going to get you far. EXCEPT someone forgot to tell Tommy Gray that part of the equation! The first qualifier on Friday night left us last in the field of 20 after a clutch malfunction. This was to be where we spent most of our time on the qualifying ladders! The second round saw the car go a bit further but then still shook and blew the tires off. Sean Melton’s Urban Hillbilly in car camera should allow a lot of viewers to experience that fiasco!

But things came full circle in the last qualifier as we found ourselves not qualified along with the likes of winner Tommy Gray and points leader Travis Swearingen. When John took the tree in the last shot we were number 20 of 20 bad to the bone race cars! But when "Da Orange Ho" crossed the 660 stripe we were solidly in with a pedaling 4.02!

Eliminations gave us great hope for some more good runs but as happened to lots of racers on Saturday it was not to be. Four tenths out the supercharger locked up and spit the top blower pulley across the race track. GAME, SET, MATCH!!!

But we did once again prove that ex street car racers could play amongst the baddest of the bad on race day! Latch Daddy, Billy Gibson paid John what I consider to be a great compliment. "Here you guys are again! Out of nowhere and ready to play!"

We’ll see everyone in Norwalk for another try at the brass ring!
