The old motor went into mom's car later in the year. We hurt her motor at home and did not have time to get it fixed so we just made some adjustments and threw the old motor in... so I guess that leaves alot to be said. That motor has not been tuned to the camaro chasis, it maybe has a dozen passes on it in that car.

Old iron..vs... New iron.....

It take about 80hp more to run 7.50 in Kevin's car...than the same 7.50 in Colletta's car....however....looking at speed alone....Kevin is down a TON of power from where he should be...a phuck'in TON!!!!....Ross Stomp ran FASTER than Kevin ....4 years ago....with a NOVA....

That same motor is for sale for $18,000 right now...capable of high 7.40's...

...heck Golobo bought Ross's championship motor a long time ago and went 7.50's 5 years ago???

the difference is ....ENGINE BUILDERS!!!!!

Kevin needs to re-think that boat anchor , and pick-up the steam a bit

well... here is really the only solution to a level playing field, when it comes to the more newer aerodynamic cars, -vs- the Old Iron...

Either a .004 increase in jet strictly for "old iron"...or...

a 100-150 lb weight break ADDED to the 75 lbs they already get, for a total of 200-250lbs....so Kevin should race Colletta,Schroeder, Boer @3000lbs-vs- them at 3250... I would be at 2750- 2800... Widener runs now at 2900  ...his 100 lb weight break for a "stock" head added to the areo of his car erases my 12 degree cyl heads :x REMEMBER...we are at about a 80hp disadvantage in aero alone and to make 80hp when these motors already have a high volumetric-efficientcy...well...the 80hp just isn't going to happen, my motor made 1108hp last year after I spent $12,000...for 40 additional hp

I would propose...to go the .004 jet route for ...say....'70 and older????...Dale Pitman back in the day of NPS when it first came out ran a .038 jet to go 7.49.... but with time.... and better engine components today... a .038 jet would propell that car to about 7.30 today at 3250lbs...if 7.40's is of concern....let me say here and now....there will be 4-6 cars that go UNDER 7.40 NEXT YEAR...

There's already a few that can do 30's next year in my opinion. with no mods, just tuning.

Johhny, I think there is maybe a little more to be had out of my motor. Not much. My car will go 183 out the back door today and with some tuning may go close to 184. My problem is in ET. I highly doubt Beeson or Colletta are making much more power if any...

You are mistaken Johhny, Robbie the last year he ran NPS was around .05 slower than us. Beeson also was a tad behind us.

As for jet increases. I see no need to help out the smaller motors, be it old or new iron. You have gone 4.75 or better to the 1/8th. There is no one with the 632/nos that has even come close to that number that I am aware of. The best I have seen is a 4.79. All I can say is look at Barb. She took the old Vette motor and put it in the Camaro and it is clearly at a disadvantage by say a tenth.

Exactly my point....

Lets say for argument sake... the areo... on those cars is worth 5 mph???... over Kevin or myself.....so it will take 80 plus hp to run the same MPH at the same WEIGHT!!!....get it?

Colletta and Beeson, both don't even turn the "chit" on until .50 into the run!!, nor are their cars state on the art cars otherwise it would be lights out for everyone,..as long as their cars are of sub-par statute, they still have areo to save them 80 hp...heck...Beeson's car is a ladder bar for christ sakes!!... Colletta's engine in my car at 3175 with the ram on it would go a high 7.26-7.29

I've been ...1.09 60ft...3.07...4.71....Colletta ???...1.13?...3.14...4.78??

Kevin...I know....what is up with their cyl heads....I'm not at liberty to say....but with that Sonny's 16.5 degree cyl head....they have 75-90 hp on you !!...hence that 192 + mph

unless "old iron" gets a weight break of 200-250 over those cars...or is able to make 80-100 more hp with .004 more jet....next year will have a "new" body style as champion again

JB
