Man!

Finally got a chance to watch these SRV videos last night (that's why I slept in today; see Jimmy's post!).

MAN!!

He was somethin' else. That tone, that touch, that ATTITUDE! Even playing "lead" and "backup" at the same time; did you know he was the "metronome" for the rest of the band? Usually its the bass or the drums, but not here.

I am always surprised at how much "sound" just three guys can make!!

I am not trying to be mean but I think SRV makes Hendrix look like a washed up drugged out rookie...

Im with you there Kieth. I dunno what rock I was under, but I did not even know who he was until he died. one of the guys in my shop was a fan & was REALLY bummed when he died. I said "Stevie who???". so he lent me some tapes. once we got back into port I went out & bought all of the tapes I could find & a few years ago updated most of them to CD's. the man just knew how to make it sing.
