I can't tell if that's a double frame rail, a.k.a baby pro mod set up. It looks like a great job !!. I'm assuming the engine will be much higher in the chassis this time, the tunnel looks really up there. And will the firewall be a part of the frame with the rear motor plate? Anyway I'm glad to see you guys playing it safe !!

Yes, it will be a double frame rail car. If your gonna play with them you might as well join them. Know what I mean!!!!!! The front sub frame will be exactly the same distance off the ground as it was before. The body will however be lowered onto (how come my wife just smiled when I typed lowered onto???) the frame reducing frontal area. The motor is set back compared to last year but will be the same height off the ground. We are not using the body for structure. It will be a tube chassis car with a body on top of it. The mid plate is attached to the stock frame rails, the dash bar, and to a vertical on each side of the motor plate. I will feel a lot safer going down the track, that is for sure!!! Thanks, Kevin.

Nice I've seen a few new variations of the double frame rail set ups, from MBRC, and Neverlift. It's amazing the thought process involved in keeping you guys glued to the track and safe in the same sentence.

I guess it's in your class rules to have a stock firewall and chassis rails?
I couldn't think why else you'd have a pro mod type chassis on those stock type rails.
It took me 6 months to make my chassis,i never want to build another...... :roll:

Hey Andy, yeah the firewall, front frame rail rules are still pretty thin at that. Let's face it, these things are going way too fast for most of the true backhalf chassis. After watching a good friend almost not survive an 7.70 pass as he hit the concrete at well over 180, only the moly funny cage saved his life.

I always thought it was real dangerous running heavy back half cars at those speeds.They have so much energy when they crash it's real scary.Lucky for us most of our cars couldn't have stock firewall and frame rails rules,mine didn't have any frame rails to keep..........
