Hey Kevin, I saw in the for sale section you'll selling bumpers and doors, etc. Did you happen to weigh that stuff to see how much weight you saved? I'd like to put mine on a diet sometime and am curious how much the bumpers and doors saved.

The doors saved 90 lbs for both doors. That was removing the old doors. Extracting the regulators from the old doors. Then mounting the regulators and Lexan in the fiberglass doors. If you did not need roll up windows, you would save more weight. As for the bumpers, I cannot remember what the weight savings was. I built light weight bumper brackets and mounted the fiberglass bumpers to brackets using Dzus's. Hope this helps, Kevin

90 lbs ain't too bad... I didn't realize you could use the old regulators in the fiberglass doors. I like that idea. What brand did you go with?

The doors are glasstech. The doors did not come with any provisions for the regulator mounting. It took alot of measuring and fabing to get the regulator to work. I did make one mistake. In the effort to save weight, I cut the regulators too much(lightening them). The Lexan does not go up and down very well. The interior trim panels were not mounted to the door either. It works for my class. I would thnk it though more if I were to do it again.

Good info - Not sure if I can get away with it in the class I want to run, but I'm going to keep it in mind.
