Ok guys, lets get to the questions and get this guy a 150+ MPH timeslip.

What tire size do you run?
What rear gear do you run?
What tranny and gear ratio do you run?
What it the trap speed RPM?
What do you shift the car at?
Have you calculated converter slippage? If so, how much did you have?
What does the car feel like pulling through the gears?

I really dont believe that your ignition is the reason your car wont go 150 MPH. That is my opinion by the way.

Does the car run clean down the track?
Have you tried changing jets in the carb and tuning for MPH? (not ET)
What is the correctional altitude you race at? If unknown, where are you from and what track is your test track?

Sorry for all the questions but sometimes to get information, we need a LOT of data..

Okay here is the specs 555 Pro-1 cnc355,dart single 4bl,carb shop st5 carb,JE15:1 pistons,284-292 .800-748 112 cam,2 1/4 to 2 3/8 merg collector 4 into 1,crank trigger, holley ignition, vac pump. TRANS is a power glide with 1.76 first gear 10 inch convertor 5800 flash stall, 6000 stall on 1 to 2 shift,580 rpm slip at 7500. DIFF ratio 4.11 with MT 10.5x28 slicks. SHIFT RPM 7600-7800 and cross finnish line at 7500.ENGINE feels clean and strong.Have tryed changing jets from {93} up to 96 to back down to 88, and have tried timming at 34,35,36,38. all these changes have gained 1 mph at the most. The mph some times changes 1 to 2 mph with a very strong head wind or a very hot day to a mild night.I have a datta logger on car and their is no real bad wheel spin to effected mph.RACE TRACK is at Adelaide Australia which is at sea level. Have only done 22 runs on this new combo. Look forward to hear any comments. Andrew

OK I did a few calculations. To get to 150 MPH you will need to go through the traps at more RPM (7600). The calculation said that you sould run a 4.22 rear gear. I really dont think that a rear gear is the problem. Everything with you combo looks great. Maybe the motor is a little down on power from what was given to you from the dyno. I know thats not what you need to hear but sorry. Sometimes we get lost with HP numbers and we try to think it is the tell all. Everyones dyno is a little different. Some high, some right, & some low. I personally say you go for ET and say screw the MPH. I think the MSD 7 will aid you with traction issues. Tire spin should help you MPH not hurt it. Improve that 60' time and it will amaze you how much quicker the car is over all. It may even pick up MPH.. Who really knows???

Thanks for trying anyway mate. But i know their is a 150 mph in the car, maybe after 50 passes i will get their.Going to change torque convertor so as to get slip down to 350 rpm, small gain!.Get the ignition tested,Try a diferent timming light,Close spark plug gap up.plus some more tunning.Every engine combo i have had, I have managed to keep going quicker with every meet that goes by. Thanks Andrew
