I just bought a new stroud spring launcher setup. it looks bitchen except, winding it up is for sure a 2 person job. there should be some kind of a ratcheting mechanism on there to stop it from unwinding while your trying to wind it up. that would make life WAAAAY easier.

I wasn't aware of the need for them on jack stands.......... I sure hope it doesn't convert the garage to a carport

Im seeing more & more folks getting away from the pilot chute type of chute & going to an air launch or spring launch setup. Im hoping not to run CO2 so I did not get the air launch.

another advantage to these is in 1/8 mile stuff there is not a lot of air speed to help open the chutes. also if the car is crossed up, it will still get it out there & hopefully help to pull the car straight. Im hoping to not have to deal with either, but.............

Don't get the type of mount that has a tube coming of the center of the plate that the chute bag mounts to. Get the other type. If you want to upgrade later to a launcher, be it spring or air then it can easily be done. Also leave yourself enough room between the car and the chute for a luncher when you mount it..... Does this make sense?????
