I mentioned this in another thread, but I did a photo shoot Saturday with a free lance writer out of Pasadena California (David Newhardt - he has a book out right now called "Million Dollar Musclecars").

He is doing a new coffee table book on the "super" dealerships of the sixties - Yenko, Motion, etc and of course Royal.

Needed a Royal GTO to carry the banner!

Geez, now I'm embarrassed...

What I was trying to show was some "behind the scenes" action of what goes into these photo shoots. He got into all kinds of wierd contortions getting some pretty cool shots (see all those white M Vans? You don't see them in the photo...).

We made "full use" of that big white wall, using it to reflect the white light onto the side of the car or into the interior. He also had this big gold reflector thing that we used to reflect light into the engine compartment. There also was a loading dock: I parked next to it on the upper level and he got down in the pit to shoot details on some of the emblems, wheel centercaps, etc. Pretty artsy stuff.

It's going to be interesting to compare the final product to what we started with....

Oh! and he had this telephoto lens.... the first few shots he took from like 60 or 70 yards away, to get the perspective he wanted, I guess... :?:
