How bout a Carol update....

Well, as of yesterday she can bath herself and cook some small things like eggs and toast. She is doing quite well right now. She is in a great mood today and we both are going to Connie's last softball game tonight.
Tomorrow is the big meeting with her doctor. That's about it right now.

We went yesterday, they said she is doing great. We are in the waiting game. She needs more tests to establish a new base line to track from. After these tests she will start chemo. She has a decision to make, basically go the normal route of chemo, or the normal route with addtional non approved drugs. She fits the profile to be part of a 2000 person case study, only 6 people in Michigan right now. There are some potential serious side affects involved if she would like to take the new drug, but the doctor doesn't expect problems as she is yound and strong. This new drug is working wonders with patients that haven't been having any luck with traditional chemo treatments. We are talking still and looking over all the information currently.

Dogg... is it a study or do they guarentee that she will get the actual meds and not a placebo. One of the hospitals had contacted me about being part of a study for my wegner's diease... I told then no way. half the people got meds and half of them would get a placebo... i figure i already have a 50 % chance of not going into remission... there is no way that i am going to take the chance of not getting the meds that i need. other wise make sure that you do all the research that you can. if you need any help let us know. otherwise go give the wife some hugs and tell her how great she is.

The meds are for real, she'll be put in one of three groups. We can't pick which group, each one of the groups get the drug, but at different stages of the treatment (timing). We already spoke to the doctor about this, but as you are about the 10th person to say the same thing, we will again ask how we are guaranteed to actually get it.
