Here's a clip I shot of the Saturday Cacklefest in Columbus this past weekend. Some of the push cars were as cool as the Fuelers.

The scary thing about when you did or did not grow up is being able to identify with front motored diggers with cast iron 392s and 354s on fuel and knowing what weedburners are!!!

I classified modified cars at Cecil County in the early 60s. Everything from Modified Production (slightly modified) to Top Fuel (the big kahunas). During eliminations, match races, shoot outs, etc. I worked the starting line. Nothing like standing on the starting line during an eight car top fuel invitational shoot out between Kalitta and Garlits or Beebe & Mulligan and Dixon Sr's Rattler with nitro burning your eyes and the cars so loud you couldn't hear yourself think!

Ivo was driving one of his cars but not the one that hit Garlits. I don't know the facts but here is what I heard. The Ivo car had been purchased by someone and was being driven by someone who appeared to be about 40 Y.O. He couldn't get the car to fire and wasn't paying attention to what was going on in front of him when he hit Garlits in the rear. Didn't do much damage to Garlits car but screwed up the front of the Ivo car pretty bad. Here's a clip someone put on YouTube.

They packed up the Ivo car pretty quickly and I didn't get a picture of it. Here's the back of the Swamp Rat VIII
