OKAY..okay... I know you young guys aren't into the old iron like I am but I really don't care, I gonna post this picture anyway. Anyway... I'm drooling on the key board of my lap top and I decide to show the following picture to my wife. She looks at it for a few seconds and says " I guess we won't need the Viagra for a while will we?"
That beast in the back is an all aluminum 475 C.I. "W" block (for you rookies a "W" block is a 348/409 engine). AWww what the heck... here's a picture of the race engine.

When I was a Senior in High School, my Dad had a 1959 ElCamino, 348, w/3 on the tree. That was one of the funnest things I ever drove..... (and no it wasn't new that year) it was the same age as me!!!! |

Bob Before we sold that engine to Rusty, Jim held the NSCA Pro Nostalgia record at 8.752 / 153.7 MPH in the Ol Reliable2 Belair. Rusty and Verlin have it running consistent 8.60s and are getting into the 8.50s also in a 62 Belair. |

Lamar Walden of Doraville GA. built at least two that I know of maybe more. Jim Sellers had Lamar build them. He took blank aluminum big blocks and cut the decks to 74 degrees and drilled them for studs for the heads. |

Yeah Jim, that's Rusty's car. Verlin Hale does the driving and is the engine builder. The car is SOooo nice if it wasn't so quick you could call it a show car!
