Post subject:  Ford Funeral costs for city of Grands Rapids
GRAND RAPIDS - The historical funeral for Gerald Ford brought tens of thousands of people to the city, and forced many city departments to work overtime for security, visitor help and clean up.

At the city commission meeting Tuesday, officials said the bill for taxpayers is around $289,000. They'll dip into a contingency fund to cover the cost of overtime, mostly for the police department.

This cost does not include the cost to other agencies, including the federal government and the suburbs that pitched in.

shoot is that all??? we pissed way 30 million on a report thats 2 years overdue. what does the report say???? we are a bunch of smucks that pay too much for everything & dont know how to mind out money. how is that for irony???

the Tax Revenue generated for decades to come from visiters will more then cover that :wink:
