When I left last night he was walking up to 300 feet. They are saying he'll be able to come home thursday night. Everything has gone perfect thus far. Thanks for all the comments and thoughts. |

I just received a phone call from Dad, and he's home!!!!! Only 3 days and 2 hours at the hospital. I don't know about any of you, but I'm truely amazed that someone could go thru open heart surgery and be home so soon!!! He was able to walk a 1/2 mile this morning without taking a break and all the fluids have left his body so he's back to his regular weight again as well. So far he hasn't seen a "Bad" day, it's only improves tremendously over 3 days. I can't wait to get home to see him............. |

Cailin....not sure but I think the doctors tell the heart patients how far they can walk and how far they need to walk to rebuild the muscles after a surgery like that....as I said, I am not sure. Brian...that is really great news....don't forget to tell him we are still pulling for him and expect to see him at the track next year with ya! |

The doc told him to walk as much as he can stand, so he is doing that. He has to be real careful about siting and standing up out of a chair to protect his chest, but he's doing fine with that, a technique you know. He off the pain meds except he is taking Tylenol is all. |
