im 23 years old, i live in millington tn, i race at memphis motorsports park. my nova is just a streetcar that i raced a little in the foot brake class last year. since the winter its got a 10 point cage and im in the middle of doing a rack and pinion conversion. the car is ugly as heck but it runs low 12s on the 125 shot. 12.80s on motor. its just a budget car that i have alot of fun with. but now with the cage and spool its losing its "street car" status. too bad its too slow to be considered a racecar. :oops: im planning a 406 build up soon.

Too slow to be considered a racecar??? What are you talking about??? Do you race it??? Do you enjoy it??? Then stop with the negativity already... Sounds cool... How is the rack conversion going??? Carefull of the bumpsteer issues when you are locating the rack... Also is it a front or rear steer rack????

i got a flaming river pinto rack. and then i bought new steering arms and tie rods from david lemmond. the rack will be mounted in front the crossmember. he sent me all the joints and material for the steering shaft too. i still have to put new bushings in the control arms too. should i grind off the serrated edge on them? they are from energy suspension.

Do you mean on the sterring arms???? If so, you probably could clean them up a bit. Are they steel????

no, my steering arms are aftermarket aluminum ones.

i have to put new bushings in the A arms, which are still stock. they are the poly ones. they have a serrated edge on the tube thats inside them. i hear of people grinding the serrated part off. why do you do this? what does it help?
