Camp Stanley
3743N 12706E
Camp Stanley is located approximately three miles outside of the city of Uijongbu, less than 20 miles north of Seoul. Cp Stanley is located 4 miles southeast of Cp Red Cloud and about 7 miles north-northeast of the outskirts of Seoul. The Kwangju Mountain Range, an offshoot of the Taebaek Mountains lies to the west. One way trip to Seoul from Camp Stanley takes about two hours by car or bus. Camp Stanley began as an unnamed Tent City in 1955. In 1958 it was named after one of the Engineering Battalion's Commanders, Col. Stanley. The first building was erected in 1969.

Camp Stanley is one of the forty-two camps north of Seoul authorized Hardship Duty Pay of $150 per month as of 01 January 2001. The Hardship Duty Pay is paid to troops who are permanently assigned to areas where it is authorized or who serve 30 consecutive days of temporary duty in those areas. Several factors are considered in determining whether a location qualified for the pay: climate, physical and social isolation, sanitation, disease, medical facilities, housing, food, recreational and community facilities, political violence, harassment and crime. The extra pay provides meaningful financial recognition to troops assigned in areas where living conditions are substantially below US standards.

OOOPS wrong Camp Stanley .... Sorry Camp

"Wings" was the first full-length film to take home an "Oscar" in 1927. Filmed on Camp Stanley and at Kelly Field. It was one of the most famous silent films ever produced. It broke new ground in filmmaking for it's innovative and dramatic reenactment of aircraft in combat over France in World War One. Although the majority of the heroines in this film were less than scantily clad Mr Stanley was always available to help them get back on...

Camp Stanley Storage Activity
Boerne, TX
Located northwest of San Antonio, Camp Stanley, a separate activity of Red River Army Depot, is a weapons and munitions supply, maintenance, test and storage activity. The post supports locations throughout CONUS and selected overseas areas. The post includes 4,000 acres with 630,000 square feet of storage space.

In 1990 the Leon Springs Military Reservation consisted of Camp Stanley, largely used for ammunition storage and testing, and Camp Bullis, utilized for firing ranges, maneuver areas for army, air force, and marine combat units, and for field training of the various medical units from Brooke Army Medical Centerqv at Fort Sam Houston. There were lots of fables bandied about pertaining to the size of the gun primarily utilized by Camp Stanley, but Camp Bullis was never able to come close...

Shall we go on?

Phil
Do you realize how old you must be to remember that piece? Well, yeah I guess you would since you do, huh?
But a supercharged Taurus Station Wagon? What guy in his right mind would do anything like that? Maybe a guy who put a blown BBC with a pedal cluch and a Lenco in a Luv truck?
Guess that kinda answers your question, doesn't it?
Guilty as charged!
