Wow! That looked really cool. The weather looked great too. I cant wait to get to the track , even if I'm just a spectator. It looked like that car should go in the 8's easy with a stronger tune-up off the line.

Nice run on the 67! How big of shot on it? Just out of curiosity what's it run off the bottle? I made a couple passes last weekend and with my tight converter and tall gears could only get a 10.90 out of mine. It's really a dog out of the hole with that setup. Putting a new set of valve springs in it now, then going to try some nitrous passes here in a week or so.

Gatf4, thanks....the car actually leaves on the motor on the brake at 3500 then he rolls into the throttle to activate the spray.....We tried to launce it with the spray right of the line and even with a nasty burnout and VHT it still just punishes the tires....I have a vid of that launce, i will try to put it up today.....

505nova, the tune on the spay right now is a 300 (we think) 32 nitrous and 28 fuel.....The car has gone 9.85 at 138 on the motor alone on pump gas (92 ) but usually runs high 9's or 10'0s on the motor.....He runs a COAN converter and it stalls about 4500 on the brake with 31 x 13.5 et streets with 4.11 gears and a PG......And still drives like a champ down the freeway...

I know its not cheap and would take some fine tuning, but in my opinion that new MSD Digital 7 with the traction control is made for a car like that. It might let you hit it harder earlier. Of course if you guys are really good and have the car really fine tuned to begin with it probably wouldn't help all that much. Just a thought.

Really nice Snyper !!. low 9 street car, gotta love it. Am I wrong or is that really long shutdown. We need chutes here !! lol.

Also have you ever tried to correct it to sea level ust for giggles?

Yes it is a very long shutdown, a half mile shutdown!!!!!! That is because our track is also part of that road course........

We are going to race a 2004 gsxr 1000 this comming sunday for $ 1,000....not so sure what the guy on the bike is thinking but it will make me money so who cares!!!!!!

Hello all. I'm the 67 owner/driver. Thanks for all the nice comments and thanks to snyper for his help.

Just to clear a few things, the off bottle times were on C-12. On pump fuel, I think it ran 10.30s. The current tune is a 300 shot. That day we weren't quite tuned right. Wasn't pulling out enough timing on the top and it was laying over at about 6600 due to detonation. That has since been remedied.

The off the line launch that Snyper is talking about that spun the tires I think is more attributed to overheating the tires in the burnout box. They were pretty melted and balled up. Note to self: long burnouts bad on street tires.

What would really help are switching back to the ET Streets (currently hoosier quicktime pros) in a 31x16.5 size and getting some tubs that will allow some travel. Once there is room for travel, get those damn air shocks out of there.

As for the Digital 7... I'd love a programmable plus!! I would love to be able to control the timing vs rpm curve. Car pulls like a raped ape down low on the juice with not much timing taken out. It is up high that it starts hurting itself. We could use an RPM switch to help, but I think a Digital 7 is the answer.

Alas... it is all a long ways off as I have a wedding in july and a new home being finished up in june.

Thanks again for the kind comments.

Greg

Well we figured out some of the problem with the tire spin issue....Greg had busted a front heim joint on the drivers side ladder bar... :idiote: Damn side ways pointing rear ends.

You had a heim broken and the ladder bar didn't flop around? That's scary. Sounds like you might not have enough timing taken out all the way around. If you get the digital 7 you might want to try running your timing the opposite of what I think you are writing here. Pull more timing out to control tire spin on the launch and curve it in from there. Just some thoughts. :)
