That should answer your question on WILL I BE OUT THIS YEAR. I bought the car COMPLETE minus the bottom end. This bottom end was still with the original owner and I bought it first. The heads came of this motor before it was on the Brothers SM Camaro. That car, the Blue and Yellow '68 with a 460 inch engine in legal SM trim, but heavy for the motor did go a 7.608, not sure about the .08 part I do know it went 7.60. And that was with a less of a bottom end, and almost 40 cubes less, but about 30 lbs lighter than I have to be for NPS. And the chassis was done by the same Super Stock legend, FJ Smith. But I can run a little more spray as I THINK they had about a 350 hit in it that weekend. I know I don't have quite enough for you this year, and will need more seat time, but hell, " I BE YOUR HUCKELBARRY". maybe we can do it at the CFSC or Stanton if I can get over the boarder OK. Just for the kick of it or a little wager like a STEAK DINNER. But will need to brush up before I try your Killa. Like I said, I have nothin' to lose but 1 race, and I'm sure you will back me up on this, that will happen often this year. This year if I make a 2nd round just about anywhere I will be considering that a victory. Making it to the 3rd round, well just say I won't be able to get the helmet on without a can of SLICK 50. 8)

505, there is extensive work in that there block. 18 lbs of matereial was removed, where ever we could without hurting the durability. Here's another of some of the work you can see from the lifter galley.

Very cool, I was looking at how you guys added the extra bolt bosses and the valley modifications. Would it be to much to ask to see a picture of the valley?? This is a dry sump application right?

505, Yes this was a 6 Stage dry sump motor before I got it. This stuff can be used for a wet sump, there is just a couple of little things to do to run a wet sump, like 10 to 15 minites work, that's all.

As you can see there is quite a bit of work in this sucka. But this is what you need to get a 2500 lbs to run 7.0's ON THE MOTOR, no blower or NOS. Now Kevins has another blueprint for sucess HAHAHA. But this did run Pro-Stock back a couple of years ago. This short has made 3 passes down the track, best being a 6.72 with a small (175 hit) in the same 2500 lbs Baretta, but he had a Lenco 3 spd. and Hogan 2 X 4 sheetmetal that I don't, plus I'm heavy at 2946 lbs for NPS. I really like the way that valley is setup and wondering how you could do that with a wetsump and get the oil back to the pan? What's your plan for that or are you staying with the dry sump?

Sounds like a pretty good motor to run that N/A. How big is it?

505, there are enough provisions for pan drain back, but yes I'm planning on running a dry sump system. Like I said, this was a legit, to the rules NHRA 499.? inch Pro-Stock engine. This was his 3rd back up motor as it didn't run 6.90's N/A. After about 4 years of playing with the Pro-Stock stuff, the team switched to Pro-Mod, with All the Pro-Stock stuff, changed a bit and tried NOS, That's why this set up, with like a .021 pill went 6.72 just to make sure everything was good to go, pulled the motor, and it sat till a few years ago he started parting everything out. The guy who bought the car, came back and bought the #2 motor, but in a 'glide with a NOS converter and went 7.52 first pass. I bought the short block complete with NOS cam in the fall of '03, and the original heads came last summer. I taked to the guys who did the dyno work and he still has the paper work for the engine, 1200+ N/A, little less now with the single 4 and NOS cam, but still should be in the 1050 or so range, plus NOS. Plans for this year is LEARNING. Hoping for some high 7.70's this year, but LEARNING and seat till will decide that. John
