My bad....

Our lives are like books with numerous chapters. Some are amazing while others end too soon. Then there are those that may cause us pain and really take a toll on our hearts and minds. Each of these chapters though, has a purpose. We have to remember that they are God’s plan, not ours. They will happen no matter what we do or say. It’s what we do with what happens that counts. When a chapter in our life is not quite the way we planned it, we first have to remind ourselves that it was God’s plan. These chapters may not be erased. There is no backspace, no white out, no delete. Next, we must figure out what we are going to do about it; where do we go from here?

Well, are you a glass half full or a glass half empty kind of person? When one door of happiness closes, another one opens. Sometimes we are so focused on the door that has closed we fail to see the one that has been opened for us. If all we do is focus on the negatives we can’t see any of the positives that are staring right back at us. Yes something so painful has happened to us and yes it is easier to see all the negatives and all the wrong doings and all the hurt and sorrow but as children of God we have to look at the bigger picture. There was a reason God planned it that way and we have to search for that and change our perspective to see the positives. Once you do this, the positives will begin to flow in and it’s hard to stop them. Are you one who takes the easy road or do you fight the battle God has put before you? This road was never to be easy but He will not put something in our life that we cannot handle (I Corinthians 10:13). Call upon Him and He will show you the light. Remember that the hard is what makes the end result so much better and much more rewarding.

We all know that forgiving is one of the hardest things to do. It is so much easier to just let ourselves stay angry or stay upset. It is so much easier to just say "He/She caused me so much pain, caused me so much agony, caused me so much hurt, why do they deserve to be forgiven?" We have been taught that if we have done something to someone else that hurt them we say "Sorry" which then is followed by "I forgive you" and thats how we know it. They go hand-in-hand. Yet, what if we never hear "Sorry"? I think that is the hardest thing to do in this whole "forgiving" concept. Forgiveness does not need a sorry, it should be automatic as hard as that is. If we hold out for a "sorry" that never comes then what exactly is that doing to us?

Turn the tables around... what about all the things that we have done to others and maybe we didn't say sorry for them. Forgive us OUR trespasses and we forgive THOSE who trespass against us. It's all right there... Think about how relieved we are when someone forgives us. Think about how great we feel when we forgive someone. It takes so much off our shoulders. So much is lifted off us. Remember 70 X 7... Extremely hard but its the truth and in the end everything will be fine.

The most important thing i want to express in this is the fact that its not what happens to us that counts its what we do with what happens to us that counts. The way i see it is you have 2 choices, you sit there and sulk or you do something about it. Things are going to happen to us that we arent going to like but thats not our choice. What are we going to do about these things? Are we going to let it take over us or are we going to take over it? Are we going to suffer and feel bad or are we going to battle and conquer? Remember, you are in control of your emotions, dont let someone else take over. Give it to God and be strong. Again, He will not put something into our lives that we cannot handle.

Overcome, Grow, Learn, Conquer.

Christa
