I get my engine back tomorrow.
This is, if it doesn't come apart on the dyno.

Awesome Bad in the day I bought a six pack intake with carbs at a garage sale. The guy said it was a small block chevy. I was 18 and didn't know any better. Took it to Wayne Landon in Hastings who was building my engine for my 69 camero and said to use it. He started to laugh and said it was for a 409. That the heck is that???? So I found out that the heck that was in a big hurry, LOL. I sold it several years later for a ........let say......HUGE profit.

Sunday I met Russ and Susan in Dayton OH. Tony Dipillo freshened Russ's 430 c.i. 409. Monday we took it to a dyno shop to see what it had in it. 603 hp @ 7200 rpms and 478 ft. lbs of torque at 5700. Not bad for a 47 year old block!  Took it back to Tony’s shop and put it in the car Monday afternoon. And it followed me home! Here we are getting it out of the trailer. My son Allan     It's First Class all the way! Russ really knew what he was doing when he engineered this car. It's absolutely beautiful both outside and beneath the skin! |
