I'm so excited. A magnesium cast tool we (I) here at GDE engineered is one of the Elite top 10 finalist in this years Pace Award, one of the highest awards in the Automotive Industry. This tool was an absolute nightmare for me personally. It's a one piece inner rear liftgate for a Ford SUV, the Largest magnesium cast piece in the world and EVERYONE said it couldn't be done,...........well we proved EVERYONE WRONG!!!!

DANG, do they a press big enough to run that tool???? :shock:

That was one of three mauor problems Kevin, the largest press they have is a 3500Ton, the tool requires a 6500 Ton in order to work and presses that large do not exist. I can't let the cat outta the bag, but if you look closely at the picture you probably can figure out what I did to make it work. Prince Corp.(die cast machine producer) laughed right out loud at my idea, said it would never work, can't keep the die shut with over 12 million lbs of injection pressure...........whose laughing now BOYS. :lol:
