Give me your honest opions!! I was not allowed to race Friday at Milan because they said my tire was too big. The spec tire is a 10.5x29.5 and my tire is a 9x30.

Here is the tire rule from Milan's website: Maximum Tire 29.5 x 10.5 (NO W's allowed) Drag Radials are OK they must not be larger than spec slick

See the tire specs below:

Mickey Thompson ET Drag Slicks Details

Tire Compound:M5Tire Overall Diameter:29.9''Average Roll Out/
Circumference:94''Tire Tread Width:10.2''Tire Section Width:13.2''Wheel Diameter:15''Spec Wheel Width:10''Tire Weight:27.0 lbsSuggested Tube
Part Number:672-9555

Tire in question

Rear Drag Slick Tire Size: 30.0/9.0R-15

Approximate Diameter: 29.5''

Section Width: 11.3''
Tire Weight: 22 lbs

What do you guys think??

Scott

Same here! Sounds like someone is trying to come up with an excuse why you shouldn't be allowed to race.

They are going by the letter of the rule, not the intention. I would have said let him race myself..

Did they measure your tire? Because the way I read it is "Maximum Tire 29.5 x 10.5" It says nothing about what should be stamped on the side.

So I say Make them measure the tire and if it falls within their rule then RUN IT!! 8)

We actually measured my tire and compared it to the Hoosier C11 10.5x29.5 (most AM guys are running) that is supposed to have a 93 role out. My tire measured 8.9 on the tread and 92.25 on the the role out. The 10.5x29.5 measured 11.25 x 95.25. I can see where I have the advantage!! NOT!!

Race at Stanton or Norwalk!! The way the class is going you will need a 8.00 car to win. The rules cater to the deeper pockets which I do not have!!
