Post subject: | Chassis/Suspension Set Up |
Looking for some suggestions......I have had a couple of ladder bar cars and one 4-link.....now I have a stock suspended Mustang. I just bought 10-way adjustable Strange rear shocks for the car. Normal thought is to set at middle setting and test watching the sixty foots and tire spin. But.....I am only running on a 9" tire. Should I start with a little stiffer setting than normal. last year on the scales the car was at 52% front and 48% rear. Any ideas oh great gurus of racing. This stock suspension stuff is going to be fun. |

seeing that yer running an early fox body mustang, here's what I'd recomend. This should be good to low 9's HPM upper control arms Bennent Lowers - tubular with poly bushings weld all of your torque boxes UPR anti roll bar if yer looking for someone to do it for ya, call J-Rods Rides. 248 6702768. He'll work with ya on settin it up or do it for ya |

Thanks for the input.....but, I have UPR adjustable aluminum bushed upper control arms, UPR aluminum bushed lower adjustable controls arms. Boxes are welded and braced, I dont believe in anti roll bars (I will try and find an article from Ed Quay about anti roll bars). And thanks for the reference to J-Rods Rides, but I have been building chassis myself for about 15 years. Thanks Kireol for answering with suggestions. I just need to test and bone up on stock suspension tuning with a small tire. Not much different than ladder bars / 4-links but never really done it. Theories and physics are still the same. Jim |
