back in 1993 or so, I worked @ Chief Auto while I was going to college. we had a delivery guy come in a couple of times a week. he had a relatively new Kia or Hyndai or some other small crap box. every time he came in he would buy a quart of oil & put it into the motor.

one day I asked him "how many miles you got on that thing now?". He says proudly "160,000". I was astounded that in a few short years he put that many miles on it. but.............. he was in it all day long driving.

So I asked him "how often do you have to change the oil in that thing?" He tells me "this is one of those new high tech cars, you dont have to change the oil in them but every 6 months."

I asked him where he would get that idea, he said "the manual". I told him that was for normal human beings & that he should be changing it more often....................... no amount of arguing was going to change his mind. so.......... I sold him ANOTHER quart of oil & told him I would see him again tomorrow for ANOTHER quart of oil................ some folks.......

Yep, I've got the '63 Grand Prix, which I am driving the wheels off of. I also have the Chevelle, which is the "race car", and then I also have mom's '63 Lemans convert, which I don't drive so much.
