We stuck it out at the track cause Dave refused to leave the truck, trailer and car, we sat in a buddies van watching the still new dually get pummeled(sp)!Dave had to stop watching after the 20th softball sized hail ball hit the hood! I was freaking because the sirens kept going off and the radio was doing the national weather thing every few minutes (only time i ever heard it before it was "just a test") When things slowed down a bit Dave ran into the trailer to check on things, the plastic vent was shattered and rain was pouring in on the windshield of the car running right down near the msd box, he then ran to the truck only to find the windshield cracked pretty good, but luckily not leaking! Walking around after, the one thing that devastated me the most, was seeing Mike Davis's beautiful GTO with all the dents everywhere including the body line, it was horrifying! I was most glad when after Rudisell put the car on the roof and the next few cars got all squirrelly they called the race just as Dave was getting in the water box
Needless to say Alabama has and still is the worst race I have ever been too! If you are ever at a race stand in the bed of our dually and look at the top of the cab, the only evidence left of that day in Bama
