There is suppose to be an Eagle around the lake by my house, I haven't seen it yet.
There is an Osprey that nests right behind my house. They set a pole out in the lake 4 or 5 years ago. They have been there the last 2 years and are back again this year.
Last year the wildlife dept. placed 2 other chicks that had been abandoned in the nest with the 2 adults and 2 chicks they already had.
Here is a picture of one of them.
The wildlife guys said they were about 6-8 weeks old, so you can imagine how big they are full grown!!!
My mom and dad got to go on the boat with them when they placed them and mom took these pictures.
They are fun to sit in the back yard and watch them fish. He circles at about a 100 ft and then goes into a dive and completely disappears under water. I don't think I've ever seen him miss, he always comes up with a 12"-15" fish.
