Just received this email from the track manager, read it in full detail and give you opinions:
Dogg,
If you recall two years ago Milan and US 131 tried to do a start of a series heads-up race. Milan ran on the first Friday of the month and we ran on the 3rd Friday of the month. US 131 hung it out for 4 races, and we did not get the car count or spectator to warrant the races to take place. We are fully aware of what Milan does and how successful their Heads-Up nights are, and we agree that we need to revisit this type of Friday night racing.
We have teamed up with a partner in Muskegon, and we are working on a 5 race program, running one race per month. We are planning on running 4 different classes; Unlimited 10.5 (W's OK), True 10.5, Drag Radial, and All Motor. All classes are going to have a $50 entry fee, with the classes paying $1500, $1200, $1000, $800 to win respectively in each class.
We can not and do not want to duplicate what Milan is doing as we are in two total different markets. We need to make our program something that fits our market, both for racers, and more importantly spectators.
We welcome any help information that you may have concerning this area.
Keep an eye on our website for total payouts, and rules for each class.
Thank you,
Jason Peterson
