Jill got her motorcycle permit a few weeks ago. Well we went to Virginia to pickup her Honda Shadow. Her first long distance trip.....I was a bundle of nerves.....she was following me while I drove the Jeep. It was a nice little ride...about 45 miles. Well we got 15miles from home...and she dumped the bike turning at an intersection. I ran back to the intersection (don't know how I got there so quick but noticed my knee was not screaming at me) to cut the bike off cause the rear wheel was still spinning (throttle was stuck) and her foot was right by it.

I got the bike off of her....and got it to the side. By the grace of God this happened at a intersection in the country. When I looked up there were 10 motorcyclist around that just appeared out of thin air. They stopped all traffic and let me check Jill's injuries before moving her. I am happy to say that she only scraped her knee, elbow and shoulder. So I helped her up. I started thinking....I am going to have to finish the ride home. Then she really shocked me and said...."I better get back on and get the bike home huh?" I was like....HEWL YEAH (knowing if she didn't it would be a long time before she would ride if she didn't get right back on).

So I walked her back to the intersection and showed her what happened and why (pebbles...and rock dust) and she saw where the rear wheel slid out from under her and how she went down. I am thankful that she was only going about 15mph when it happened. She got back on and rode home all she asked was that we stay in the country on the way home to avoid traffic. Which we did.

I just gave her some asprin a little bit ago. She is sore but she should be ok. So my first day of the year was a little eventful. When we got home..>I took the bike out for a bit (3 hours). I look a little big on a 650 Honda Shadow. It was such a pretty day for a ride though. Now I need to get a bike. UGH..more $$$$ like my tree has any on it this time of year!!!

Happy New Year everyone...

LOL...I know...I know...but not too many people I would trust to have her ride with. There are 2 people that are ok come to mind real quick. Not counting me of course.
